Announcing New Game


Well it's that time of year again where I make a devlog about an overly ambitious new project.

This time I'm going for something wildly different from my usual material...

I have released a short prototype showing off some of the new mechanics I've been working on over the past year.

The main features being an in-game smartphone interface, with multiple apps and widgets handling the functionality typically seen in a traditional HUD, and the ability to directly manipulate physics objects in the game world.

I could go on and on about these mechanics but frankly I think it's better to let them speak for themselves, even if they are in a fairly basic state right now.

Though I will say that these mechanics are being tested in preparation for a much larger project I'm currently working on for school (which means I do have a hard deadline this time!). I'm hoping that feedback on these mechanics will allow me to refine them, or possibly scrap them and redesign them if they don't pan out. My main goal with the new project is immersion, so I will be constantly working on this prototype to improve interactivity, refine the UI and generally make the game world feel more believable.
